Carnegie Elementary School Additions & Alterations

Carlynton School District
Carlynton School District and DRAW Collective are working together to create an addition and implement renovations to their Carnegie Elementary School with the goal of enhancing staff and student safety, expanding building capacity, and upgrading communal spaces.

The new design for the Carnegie Elementary School provides innovative solutions to the issues the District identified: upgrades to the building’s infrastructure and mechanical system, additional classroom spaces, improved safety features throughout the campus, a new library, and a few common areas that can be opened to the public.

DRAW’s design includes a “cafetorium” multi-purpose area that can be used for everyday cafeteria needs and can transform into an auditorium space for after-school hours. To further enhance the student experience, DRAW’s design features a secure outdoor, multi-level gathering space outside of the cafetorium to provide students and staff with a safe, open area to socialize and extend the indoor learning environment outdoors.

The project is currently out to bid, and construction is anticipated to begin in 2025.
