High School Gym Renovation

Pine Richland School District

Pine Richland School District recently developed a comprehensive master plan to improve its high school athletic facilities.  As identified in the master plan, this project focused on the school district’s need to expand its main gymnasium facility to increase seating capacity to 1,500 spectators.  The court orientation was rotated and stadium seating was provided on all four sides of the space.  State-of-the-art lighting, sound, and scoreboard were included in the main gym upgrades.

The auxiliary gym was also upgraded to provide flexibility for physical education and athletics.  A second floor was added to half of the two-story space to provide a weight and cardio center.  A two-story section was maintained for activities that needed more overhead clearance, like basketball, volleyball, and cheerleading   An upgraded wrestling facility was provided in the auxiliary gym and various size configurations were accommodated by an operable partition.

As part of this project, additional improvements were made to the athletics area of the building including an expanded storage room with high-capacity storage, upgraded locker rooms with space to hold team meetings and film viewing, and a conference room dedicated to the athletic department to serve as the location for press conferences and athlete signing events.
