Mt. Lebanon Rec Center Master Plan

Mt. Lebanon Municipality

DRAW provided Architectural Services for the Municipality of Mt. Lebanon’s Parks Master Plan and Recreation Center project working in conjunction with Pashek + MTR. Pashek led the Master Plan to prepare recommendations for meeting the current and future recreation and park needs of the Municipality’s residents while DRAW led the Recreation Center building evaluation and planning for its renovation and expansion.

The existing Recreation Center was evaluated and recommendations were developed to improve the functionality and accessibility of the existing center while making it a more inviting community destination. Further, given the residents’ desire for additional wellness and programming needs, a recreation building was proposed. The building is to include a multi-purpose gym, flexible community programming spaces, strength and cardio rooms, group exercise rooms, locker rooms, restrooms, storage, and staff offices.

Work included evaluating the park’s existing facilities, including the Tennis Center, platform tennis courts, athletic fields, batting cages, pavilions, bocce courts, outdoor swimming pool, basketball courts, sand volleyball court, children’s play areas, other passive recreation uses and the Recreation Center Complex. Recommendations are focused on expanding and improving the recreation experience of the park while focusing on the desire for increasing active transportation connections to the park and its facilities and improving the overall sustainability of the park.
