South Fayette Intermediate School
Integrating Creativity
DRAW is partnering with the South Fayette Township School District to design strategic additions and upgrades to the Intermediate School that address growing enrollment and evolving educational needs. The school’s original design anticipated future expansion, allowing the new additions to integrate seamlessly into the existing building.
The project includes a new three-story classroom wing, a three-story classroom corner expansion, and the conversion of an outdoor patio into a dedicated orchestra space.
After meeting with South Fayette teachers and staff, DRAW incorporated the World of Work (WoW) program into the renovation plans. The design places WoW spaces across three floors, dedicating each level to a specific grade with age-appropriate activities. Interactive RIASEC stations outside each space welcome students into a colorful, collaborative environment.
The expansion will serve students in grades 3–5 by increasing classroom capacity and enhancing learning spaces. Through these improvements, the District continues to strengthen the student experience and uphold its commitment to an exceptional learning environment.
In addition, South Fayette Township School District is investing in its growing community by partnering with DRAW Collective to design a new K–2 school.
