Operating Room / ICU, Center for Organ Recovery

Center for Organ Recovery and Education

DRAW Collective was recommended to provide the design services for this project by A. Martini & Co., a general contractor who had constructed the original CORE facility.

The project included the design for a hybrid OR in an existing shell space in the sterile wing. Also included was the fit-out for an additional patient room in the intensive care unit and a new satellite nurse station. With some selective demolition, the nurse station was expanded to include a storage/workroom.

CORE works to save and heal lives through donation. Their facilities must be designed and approved to standards under the jurisdiction of the Food and Drug Administration rather than the Health Department. DRAW worked with the clinical team at CORE to design the new spaces to meet these standards.
